Installing the Matcha tracking code on your web site will allow you to measure any content published from Matcha. This will also enable site-wide features such as lead form tracking. 

When you first log in to Matcha, you'll be prompted to choose how you will publish:

NOTE: The below steps primarily cover the 'Other' option, and are also a good reference for checking tracking if you make changes to your website.

You can install this snippet using any tag manager (such as Google Tag Manager), or manually in the HTML of your website.

Installing Matcha on your site using Google Tag Manager

If you are already using Google Tag Manager on your site, you can use this to install the snippet. To follow these instructions, you'll need Publish permission in your Google Tag Manager workspace.

  • Log in to Google Tag Manager and select the workspace for your website.
  • Navigate to "Tags" and then click the "New" button.
  • Replace the placeholder title of your new tag with "Compass".
  • Click "Tag Configuration" and select the "Custom HTML" option under "Custom". Copy your tracking code from the top of the settings page in Matcha, and paste it into the "HTML" field in the Google Tag Manager form.
  • Select the "Triggering" section, and then select the "All Pages" option, and click "Save" your new tag configuration.
  • Click "Submit" in the top right to start publishing your changes. If you only see a "Preview" button, not a "Submit" button, this means that you do not have Publish permission and will need to find another user in your organization to complete the remaining steps.
  • Add a descriptive name to your changes, and then click "Publish". The Matcha tracking code is now installed on your site!

Installing Matcha on your site manually

To install Matcha on your site manually, simply copy and paste the Matcha tracking code from the settings page and paste it into the <head> of your website.
